CUI scientist Dr. Christian Kränkel, Institute of Laser Physics, Universität Hamburg, has been recognised as one of twenty recipients of the inaugural Optical Society of America (OSA) Outstanding Reviewer Awards. The award is given annually to commend the top 20 reviewers for their outstanding peer review efforts over the past year.
The OSA publishes important international journals in the field of Optics and Photonics and receives over 14,000 submissions to its various journals each year. When scientists from across the world submit their papers to these journals the editors will send the drafts out to other scientists for a recommendation as to whether the work is appropriate for publication. High quality peer-review of manuscripts enables journal editors to make fair and accurate decisions on these.
Recipients of the Outstanding Reviewer Awards are chosen by the Editors-in-Chief of OSA’s journals from scores of nominations provided by their Topical and Associate Editors.
